Fake Cosmetics are dangerous!

Hong Le

It's been a while since my last blog and since the weather isn't looking too great outside I thought why not do some blogging to kill time.

I came across an article online today and thought I would share with you all my thoughts on the issue. Counterfeit cosmetics killing our retail industry and are harmful to our body. I have linked the article below so you can read it yourself and draw up your own conclusions about this topic.

So here are my thoughts: I do think that buying fake or replica cosmetics/skincare is dangerous and a bad bad idea! The article I read stated that some counterfeit cosmetics/perfumes have tested positive for a range of toxins containing ingredients such as arsenic, lead and even urine.

I have worked on cosmetic and perfume counters before and to read that the "replica" fragrances have urine in it is just disgusting! Not only is it unhygienic but also unethical. Consumers should be informed of what they are buying and the products should have all the ingredients listed on it's packaging. In saying that anyone buying "fake" or "replica" cosmetics should also know the risk they are taking buy purchasing from an unknown manufacturer.

I myself love a bargain and do try to source the most affordable products/services in all aspects of my life especially when it comes to cosmetics! It is probably the "asian" in me coming out and a trait that I have inherited from my mum, after years of watching her bargain for fresh produce and only buying clothes and shoes that are on SALE. However I will not buy replica cosmetics or fragrances that can be harmful to my skin and body just to save a few dollars.

My advice to everyone buying fakes online is to do your research first and consider whether it is worth it. Because getting a reaction from a replica makeup brand which can cause acne, dermatitis, eczema or even scaling is not worth saving a few pennies in my opinion.

Check out the article below and stop this madness!!! Buy the real deal (100% authentic brands) at reputable shopping malls. Don't get caught up or be a victim of this crazy beauty industry.
